November 2023
Dear Friends,
We are thrilled to be returning to a full production schedule, and capacity after 4 years of outdoor performances, short films, zoom readings and acting coaching online, thanks to the Pandemic. Thankfully Casabuena Cultural Productions was able to navigate the last 4 years of artistically challenging times because of encouragement and help from donors like you!
In June of 2020 we produced a short film called You’re Not Always Alone for the 48hr Global Film Challenge. It was a Drama set in a locked down world that resembled ours at the time. We were very proud of our first attempt at a Drama.
In May of 2021 we returned to producing live theater, outside at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, where we had three wonderful sold out performances of When Shakespeare’s Ladies Meet by Charles George. That same spring we also filmed a short called Checkov’s Gun with three of our former youth (now adult) company members, Angel James, Jared Taylor and Sebastian Scott.
In May of 2022 we produced another outdoor show at West Laurel Hill. We remounted MmmBeth by Allison Williams, and Company Member Jared Taylor got to reprise his role as McDuff after tackling it the first time in 2014 when he was 13 years old. Two months later in July, we filmed a comedic short called Are You Happy at a local gift shop called Windfall Gallery in Chestnut Hill.
As we approach 2024 and gear up for our exciting 10th Season, we are asking you to consider making a donation to Casabuena Cultural Productions. We are raising funds for our next show Beirut by Alan Bowne, starring Neena Boyle, William McHattie and Sean Vermeire. This show will run in the Skinner Studio Theater above Plays & Players downtown in Rittenhouse Square, as well as at a venue TBA in NW Philadelphia during the last two weeks of April 2024. We will also be returning this year to compete in the 48hr Film Project in the summer, so any contribution you make will go toward making all these endeavors possible!
With your help we can surely make our 10th Season the best yet! Can we count on you to donate this year?
Every donation helps us continue to be able to offer the kind of experiences that help artists of all levels grow and excel in any creative avenue they wish to pursue, and we really appreciate your consideration and support. Donors get not only our love and gratitude, but some levels include perks like, special VIP seating, a cameo in one of our films, and other fun things we came up with to show you how much your support means to us.
There are a couple ways to donate:
1. You can donate by credit card online at this link: https://fundraising.fracturedatlas.org/casabuena-cultural-productions
